The Association of University Centers on Disabilities
The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) is a membership organization that supports and promotes a national network of university-based interdisciplinary programs.
AUCD envisions a future in which everyone, including people living with developmental and other disabilities, are fully integrated, participating members of their communities. We envision a future in which culturally appropriate supports that lead to independence, productivity, and a healthy and satisfying quality of life are universally available across the life span.
AUCD's mission is to advance policies and practices that improve the health, education, social and economic well-being of people with developmental and other disabilities, their families, and their communities by supporting our members in research, education, health and service activities that achieve our vision.
AUCD values the participation of people with disabilities, family members, and a culturally diverse membership in its governance and programs. The AUCD Network promotes self-determination, family-centered care, and cultural competence in disability services and supports throughout the life span.
